Les Mclean returns to Portlaoise - A Way of Seeing - FP Workshops0

Seat at Hope Gap by Les Mclean

This workshop is designed to help generate ideas and encourage you to think about your photography. Photography is essentially a rather lonely pursuit and at some point we all feel that we have been working in a vacuum and need to find a way out of it.

In Ways of Seeing we will look to find that new direction by first, talking of Les’s own ever changing philosophy and then looking at and discussing your own current photographic endeavours. All participants will be involved in open discussions about all work and views, which tends to make for some interesting and stimulating results.

An essential part of the workshop is the photographic assignment Les gives which, when completed, will be the subject of collective discussion and analysis. This is a two day workshop, and participants are required to bring a selection of their work, either individual images or a series based on a theme. A digital camera is useful for the assignment as it eliminates the need to process film.
